04The details

Exactly how we do it.

No mystery, no guesswork. Here's precisely what happens from the first measurement to January takedown.

01

We measure your home to the foot

We walk and measure every roofline, peak, gable, and feature so your design — and your price — fit your house exactly, with nothing guessed.

02

Your lights are built in our shop

Each run is custom-cut and assembled to your measurements on weatherproof commercial wire. No sagging, gapping store-bought strands — your set fits your roofline like it was made for it, because it was.

03

Commercial-grade LED C9 bulbs

We use durable, warm-glowing C9 LED bulbs spaced every 12 inches for a smooth, continuous line of light — not the patchy, uneven look of consumer mini-lights.

04

Zero damage to your home

Bulbs clip onto your shingles and gutters with all-weather fasteners. No staples, no nails, no drilling, no holes — ever. When we take them down in January, there’s no trace we were on your roof but the memory of how good it looked.

05

Clean power, automatic timing

Runs connect with sealed, weatherproof plugs to a single outdoor GFCI outlet and a professional astronomical timer — it turns your display on at dusk and off overnight, on its own, all season. You never touch a switch.

06

Barely-there energy use

Because everything is LED, your display sips power — a typical home adds only a few dollars a month (see the exact numbers below).

07

We’re on call all season

A bulb goes dark or a timer drifts? One call and we’re back out to fix it — free, every time, all season long.

08

Takedown & safe storage

In January we remove everything and store your custom-built set for you. Next season is a quick reinstall at your locked-in renewal rate — no measuring, no rebuilding.

LED or incandescent?

We install commercial-grade C9 bulbs in either style. LED is our default recommendation, but here’s an honest side-by-side so you can choose with your eyes open.

Recommended

LED C9

The lookCrisp, bright warm-white glow
Cost per season~$3–$19
Bulb lifespanRated for multiple seasons
HeatCool to the touch

Efficient and durable — it costs pennies to run all season and is far less likely to need a mid-season fix. Our default for every package.

Classic option

Incandescent C9

The lookDeeper, warmer amber glow
Cost per seasonRoughly 8–10× LED
Bulb lifespanShorter — burns out sooner
HeatRuns noticeably hot

The nostalgic, old-fashioned glow some homeowners grew up with — it just draws far more power and needs more mid-season bulb swaps.

What it costs to run

Running about 6 hours a night for the whole season, at current Cincinnati (Duke Energy) rates, here’s what each package adds to your bill — LED vs. old-style incandescent:

The Classic$3–$6LED · for the entire season$24–$60 incandescent
The Signature$6–$11LED · for the entire season$48–$110 incandescent
The Estate$10–$19LED · for the entire season$80–$190 incandescent

LED estimates based on ~$0.14/kWh all-in Cincinnati rates and typical LED C9 draw; incandescent figures scale that by the standard 8–10× wattage difference between incandescent and LED C9 bulbs. Your actual cost depends on your supply rate and hours run.

05What we install

The products we use.

No consumer strands from a big-box store. Every install uses the same commercial-grade hardware professional lighting companies rely on.
